Book on Colonial-Era Kuki Raids to be released in Imphal

A new book titled Colonial Records of the Kuki Raids in Manipur and Their Impact (1878–1914) authored by Yumnam Rajeshwor Singh will be released at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal, on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The book is published by Keithel Express Pvt. Ltd. and compiles colonial-era records related to the Kuki raids while examining their political and social impact on Manipur during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
According to the programme schedule, the release function will begin at 10 am with the arrival of the chief guest, academicians, and invited guests, followed by a welcome address by Lenin Kshetrimayum. Dr. Malem Ningthouja, Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Dhanamanjuri University, will introduce the book, after which it will be formally released. The chief guest, Dr. R K Nimai, retired IAS officer, will deliver an address on the occasion.
Scholarly reviews of the book will be presented by Dr. Oinam Daniel of the Department of History, Oriental College, and Dr. Michael Samjetsabam of the Department of Philosophy, Dhanamanjuri University, highlighting the academic significance and research value of the publication.
Author Yumnam Rajeshwor Singh will also share his remarks, while the presidential address will be delivered by Prof W Nabakumar (Retd), former Dean of the School of Human and Environmental Sciences, Manipur University.
The programme will feature an open discussion session, followed by a vote of thanks, media interaction, and a book-signing session.
