Bomb found at an Iron and Steel shops at Khuyathong

Imphal, Nov 30: A bomb was found tied beneath the shutter of a iron and steel shops located at Khuyathong Polem Leikai in Imphal West under Lamphel Police Station.
The shop is owned by one Ajay Patni who hails from West Bengal, presently running 4 shops deals with iron and steels at Thangal Bazar, Dharmasala, Chingmeirong and Mantripukhri area.
The bomb was notice at around 9 am today morning. Police team who rushed the spot prevented road traffic at both end of the road while trying to defuse it. Bomb squad team after unable to defuse it detonated the bomb in front of the shop at around 11 am today.
No organisation or individuals has so far claimed responsibility of the bomb. Police suspects the bomb to have been planted for extortion purpose.
