Bobby Laishram honoured during NSOIM at Goa

Bobby Laishram, Founder , The Giving Tree , Sangaiprou was awarded Certificate of Merit for his “Model on Sustainable Living” based on The Giving Tree theme ( Category : Social Entrepreneurship). Certificate was handed out by Dr M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences in presence of NP Rajive, Executive Director, Vibhavani, Smt Indira Murthy, Joint Secretary , Ministry of Earth Sciences , Dr Indu Puri , Scientist F , Department of Science and Technology during the Valedictory function of National Social Organisational and Institutional Meet (NSOIM) Event , India International Science Festival which was held at Goa from 11-13th Dec 2021 as stated by Vibhavani Manipur State Coordinator Dr Ch. Brajakishore Singh, Scientist D, IBSD, Takyelpat, Manipur.
“The Giving Tree was a very personal space that offered friends and family to simply spend quality time together,” founder Bobby Laishram says. “It was just friends performing for friends under the tree, but with time, everyone saw the opportunity that the space offered; the scope it had to grow, and to help the people of Manipur grow, as well.”
“I am extremely thankful to NSOIM event, IISF Goa 2021 for introducing such recognition which helps us grow and showcase our model for further replication. It also helps us to invite our fellow countrymates to visit our beautiful state” he added.
The Giving Tree has evolved into a warm, versatile place that is as much as about ecological conservation, sustainable living it is also about promoting traditional /indigenous art and artists leading to promotion and preservation of our culture & heritage while generating employment and income.
In November, 2016, The Giving Tree also went on to host two evenings of contemporary performances organised by Nachom Arts Foundation, Manipur, in collaboration with The Japan Foundation, New Delhi, followed by ‘Shakukachi meets Pena’, a collaboration between Japanese Shakukachi player Motonaga Hiromu and Manipuri traditional folk musician Mangka Mayanglambam of Laihui Ensemble. It has worked closely with Laihui Ensemble on several events. Since then the list is endless so far. He further added that Giving Tree is also popular for homestay hosting many domestic and international tourists /guests etc.
Dr Ch Brajakishore, Vibhavani State Cordinator and Dr Bachaspatimayum Debkumari, National Governing Board Member, Vibhavani extends warm congratulation.
