Imphal, April 23: DESAM organised voluntary blood donation camps in connection with 125th Khongjom day under the theme “maheiroi khunnai amadi leibak meyamgidamak kathoklaba ee” at Shija blood bank and transfusion services. This is the 61st blood donation camp organised by the student body.
36 volunteers of DESAM from Imphal West and Thoubal donate blood voluntarily.
DESAM general secretary Nameirakpam Addison lamented that 62nd blood donation will be held tomorrow at rims. He further acknowledge that the need of camp to meet the shortfall of blood in the state.
On the other hand Manipur Photography Club also organized a blood donation camp in connection with the Khongjom Day being observed across the state to commemorate the battle of Khongjom fought between the Manipuri and the British Army.
As many as 20 volunteers of the Photography club donated blood at JNIMS. A doner speaking to Imphal Times said that when our ancestor could sacrifice their life for the people of the state it is a small service to pay tribute to the martyrs.
