BJP–ST Morcha Tengnoupal flags concerns over alleged unofficial deductions from IDP Aid

The BJP–ST Morcha, Tengnoupal district, has raised concerns over reports suggesting that Internally Displaced Person (IDP) beneficiaries may be facing unofficial deductions from financial assistance intended for home renovation. While the allegations remain unverified, the party stressed that public apprehensions must be addressed with responsibility and sensitivity. Officials and staff involved in IDP-related work have been urged to ensure transparency, integrity, and honesty in all processes.
The press release highlighted complaints from several IDP families regarding irregular and delayed distribution of monthly allowances, either in cash or kind. Many registered IDPs in Tengnoupal have reportedly not received their entitled support regularly, despite the crucial role these funds play in sustaining daily life and rebuilding homes.
The Morcha appealed to concerned departments to guarantee that all aid and allowances reach beneficiaries promptly and without obstruction. It emphasised that these resources are lifelines for displaced families rather than mere administrative provisions.
In the event that any deductions, delays, or obstructions are confirmed, the party urged immediate corrective action and prioritisation of IDP welfare. The statement described exploitation or neglect of displaced families as “deeply unjust” and intolerable.
BJP–ST Morcha Tengnoupal president Minlal Haokip reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to support every displaced family, advocate for their rights, and work closely with authorities to ensure justice, transparency, and timely assistance. The release called on government officials, community leaders, civil society organisations, and responsible citizens to collaborate with accountability and compassion to restore trust and stability among violence-affected communities in Manipur.
