Imphal, Dec. 13: BJP, Manipur Pradesh President Kshetrimayum Bhabananda has said today that the demonetization of old currency notes of 500 and 1000 rupees will bring about an Economically Clean Manipur and Economically Clean Indian in the line of Swachh Bharat.
Speaking to AIR News this morning, Mr. Bhabananda said, corruption has ruined the state irreparably. He also said, even government officials and close relatives of political administrators are involved in serious cases of drug smuggling. He further said that for the state of Manipur, demonetization of old currencies of 500 and 1000 rupees will tremendously help in rooting out corruption in governance and will also give a major blow to the kingpins of drug smuggling. He said, it will be very beneficial to our society particularly to our youths, the future pillars of nation building.
Appreciating the people of Manipur for their support on the issue on demonetization in spite of many inconveniences in their day-to-day live, the BJP State Unit President said, people’s support will never go in vain and its fruit is waiting for all of us in a few weeks. He said, the sacrifice of our forefathers, their fight against the British is our pride today and our present fight against black money, against corruption, against unaccounted income, against the drug smugglers and against counterfeit notes will surely be a symbol pride to our future and to our future generations.
