Bishnupur DAPCC observes World AIDS Day 2025

District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC), Bishnupur today joined the global observance of World AIDS Day 2025 under the theme “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response” at the Conference Hall of Old Chief Medical Office, Bishnupur.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, highlighted that this year’s theme emphasizes the need to address setbacks and strengthen the AIDS response through resilience, innovation, and sustained commitment. She emphasized that human-rights-centered approaches, as advocated by the WHO, are essential to achieving the goal of ending AIDS by 2030.
Pooja Elangbam further stressed that World AIDS Day unites people across the globe to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and to show international solidarity. She said the day provides an important opportunity to share information about the current situation of the pandemic and to promote progress in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care.
She added that World AIDS Day is now one of the most widely recognized global health observances, serving as a key moment to raise awareness, remember those who have lost their lives, and celebrate achievements such as improved access to treatment and prevention services.
Chief Medical Officer, Bishnupur Dr. L. Raichandra and District T.B Officer, Bishnupur Dr. S. Brojen Singh also attended the observance of the World AIDS Day 2025 as distinguished guests.
