Bhupenchandra Ghosh refutes allegations; says he never points gun to any driver

Imphal, Oct 22: All Manipur Petroleum Tankers Driver’s Union (AMPTDU,) All Manipur Petroleum Transporter Association, All Manipur Inter State Bus Service Association, National Highway 37/53 Truck Owner Association while condemning the allegation made against the President of AMPTDU by an oil tanker driver Niman Lama (34) from Kanglatongbi had threatened to cease work until an apology has been tendered regarding the matter.

Speaking to media persons, Y. Bhupenchandra Ghosh, President AMPTDU said the allegation is baseless. He added that he never pointed gun on Niman Lama since he was not carrying gun as he was asked to keep the weapon with the security personnel and there is cctv footage. Until and unless the FIR lodged at Lamphel P/S against the President is withdrawn by Niman with an apology, all the drivers will stop driving.

He however said that there were some argument with the driver but nothing such happened as alleged.
