Imphal, May 23: The two days Barak Spring festival which was inaugurated by the chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh concluded today.
The closing function was attended by Major general Suresh Kumar, YSM GOC as the Chief Guest while DC Senapati Athem Muivah presided over it. Leaders of various tribes of Senapati District also attended the closing function as dignitaries.
In his speech, Maj. Gen Suresh Kumar terms the festival as a symbol of peace.
“A hope this generation will have more generous happy future”, said Suresh Kumar describing the significance of the festival.
DC Senapati, Athem Muivan said, “As we have a fragile environment, management of the waste needs to start from our own houses and the public places our it will become a threat in the environmental system”.
He said Important of the Barak spring festival with the motto of reclaiming responsibility is extending the knowledge and activities to the children, educational institutions and other different areas where the future generations can be aware to save guard our environment including mainly the rivers flowing in our state which passes through other states.
