Barak circle organizations decides to set huge agitation against the apathy of govt

Jiribam, 25 Feb 2015: Annoyed to the ‘apathy of government’ in the developmental work of Barak Circle, the Organisations of Barak Circle of Jiribam Sub- Division decided to set up a huge agitation against the government with the support of different communities of Barak Circle.
The decision for preparatory of an agitation was resolved in a joint general meeting of Barak Brothers’ Union (BBU), Barak Circle Development Demand Committee (BCDDC), Hmar Students Association, Hmar Youth Association along with the VIPs of Barak Circle  which held on Tuesday at the Community Hall, Jakuradhor Part-I under the arrangement of BBU and BCDDC.
Speaking on the sideline of the meeting, the president of Barak Circle Development Demand Committee, Kh Rajesh Singh said that the peoples of Barak Circle are facing lots of problem as like the shortage of infrastructure of Government School, lack of doctors to the hospital and its sub- centre at Barak Circle as well as Present worse condition of Jiri- Tipaimukh road which across 2 constituencies of Manipur etc.
He added that the Barak Circle Development Demand Committee had already submitted a memorandum to the government during last year addressing to the chief secretary of Manipur where mentioned about the overall problems of this area, whereas the government has not yet given any initiative for the developmental work, so they decided with all communities of Barak Circle for a mass agitation against the negligence of government in the development of Barak Circle.
While, Joint Secretary of Hmar Supreme House, Lalminthang Hmar said that though the nation got independence before 60 years, however till the Barak Circle was deprived and it was due to the apathy of government, peoples of Barak circle are suffering a lots, as there are schools but without proper infrastructure, Hospital without doctors and nurses and much more.
He appeals to the state government as well as to the central government for taking some developmental view in the area, which might give some relief in the destitute life of Barak circle peoples.
The Joint meeting of all communities of Barak Circle was attended by Lalminthang Hmar, Joint Secy. Hmar Supreme House; P. Rakeshwar Singh, Social Worker and L. Jeera Hmar; Lomthang Hmar; Bimal Singh; Mujeeb Uddin as a chief guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
