Imphal, April 6: Meira paibi’s of Brahmapur Aribam Leikai and Mange Makhong today staged a sit-in-protest at Brahmapur Social Club, Bamon Leikai against the bomb attack at the residence of IMC chairperson A Nimai Sharma at around 9:30 pm of April 4.
Speaking to the media persons, Memton Devi, Secretary of the meira paibi denounced the lobbing of bomb at a residential area terming the attack as unfortunate.
Memton appealed to all concerned group and members not to repeat such inhuman act in the future and demand the concern authority to take up the case at the earliest.
It may be mentioned that two accused were caught by the locals at the night of the blast and were hand over to the Porompat police who rushed at the blast site.
Both the accused are undergoing treatment at Shija hospital, Langol after they sustain serious injury after the locals assaulted them. A gun licence and an ID card of Royal Riders Manipur were recovered from one of the two accused by the locals.
During the blast, no one was injured except for some damage on a residential gate of the neighbouring house and wall of the chairperson’s residence.
On the other hand, Chairperson of IMC clarifies to the media persons that the family have not received any kind of threat or any monetary demands from any underground organizations.
Few years back, there was a bomb blast incident at the residence of Chairperson though there was no report of any injury.
