On the completion of 4- years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the Jiribam District Administration celebrated Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) today at Deputy Commissioner Office, Chingdong Leikai, Jiribam.
 The  programme was graced by Kh. Janaki Devi, Adhyaksha, Jiribam Zilla Parishad; W. Malemnganba Chenglei, Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam and E. Okendro Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Jiribam as a Chief Guest, President and Guest of honour respectively.
 During the programme prizes for painting and slogan competition for junior and intermediate category which was held on September 21 in connection with the celebration of 4 years anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) has been distributed to the first,second and third position holders students.
 W. Malemnganba Chenglei (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam highlighted about the importance of insurance under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
He also added, the scheme was envisaged under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a focus to provide free access to health insurance to the low-income group in the country.
On the speech of Chief Guest Kh. Janaki Devi, Adhyaksha Jiribam Zilla Parishad said Jiribam District is a place which is mainly dominated by below poverty line people. In such a place CMHT and PMJAY card is very essential and helpful to the people for health benefits. Such benefits of the PMJAY and CMHT card need to bring awareness among the people of Jiribam by the elected members and officials of Jiribam District.
At Churachandpur, Ayushman Bharat Diwas, 2022 (celebration of 4 years of AB-PMJAY) was held today at DTC Hall, Tuibong. The event is organized by the District Administration, Churachandpur.
Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Sarath Chandra Arroju, Deputy Commissioner of the district congratulated the achievements of the district regarding Ayushman Bharat. Stating that PMJAY provides health cover up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization, the entitlement base scheme covers poor and vulnerable families based on deprivation and occupational criteria as per the SECC database, he added. Acknowledging the achievement of the medical department, the DC urged the people for their support in the implementation of the scheme for maximum benefit.
PMJAY provides cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service in any (both public and private) empanelled hospitals across India. In other words, a beneficiary from one State can avail of benefits from an empanelled Hospital anywhere in the Country.
Chief Medical Officer of the district Dr. Kim Simte stated that 8059 persons have benefited from the scheme in the district which translated to Rs. 10,19,86,830.00. Churachandpur and Pherzawl district together has 2,05,434 eligible beneficiaries out of which 70,144 beneficiaries have been verified and 1,35,290 are yet to be verified. The verified percentage of the two districts stands at 34% she added.
Distribution of prizes and certificates to winners of district-level painting and slogan writing competition held yesterday, sharing of successful stories and taking of pledge in support of Ayushman Bharat marked the observation.
S. Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC and District Nodal Officer, CMHT/PMJAY, Churachandpur, Yumnam Nelson, ADC, DLOs from different departments, CMHT/PMJAY beneficiaries, students and medical staffs attended the event.
In another development, Free Health & Awareness Camp with Dr. Rajukumar Prakash, MS Mch (Surgical Oncology) will be organized by Narayana Superspecialty Hospital, Guwahati on 27th & 28th September, 2022 at Palliative Care Unit, District Hospital. Dr. Kimngaihching Simte, CMO urged any type of known Cancer patients who are recently diagnosed or are undergoing cancer treatment to attend the health camp and avail the service.
Ayushman Bharat Diwas Celebration to mark the 4th year anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was celebrated at Jubilee Standard School, Parbung. A district level slogan writing & Painting competition on the theme “Health Care System vis-à-vis Covid 19 Pandemic” was organised. A short video clips of 5 Beneficiary Success Stories was also screen during the event.
Altogether 56 students from three different schools took part in the event. The competition was categorized to Junior (Class V-VII) and Intermediate (Class VIII-X). The District Administration awarded cash incentives and certificates to the winners.
