Awareness Programme on Organic Farming

As a part of the National Nutrition Month, a programme on Promotion of Drumstick/Local Medicinal Herbs and Vegetables cum Awareness Programme on Organic Farming and Plantation was organised at the Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Saparmeina in Kangpokpi District on Friday. The programme was jointly organised by Sadar Hills ADC, Kangpokpi and District administration, Kangpokpi.

The highlight of the programme was the demonstration on Vermi composting by District Agriculture Officer, Kangpokpi Shri N. Tolen Singh, which was followed by a brief lecture on the importance of drumstick as a food item and its medicinal value.

While interacting with the students of the school, Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi Dr.Rangitabali Waikhom, who was present as Chief Guest, exhorted them to focus on their aim in life and to be true to themselves and work hard to achieve their goal.

The programme was also attended by CEO, Sadar Hills ADC Shri T. Manihar , Principal of Eklavya Model Residential School, officials and staff of Agriculture Department, Kangpokpi, teachers and students of EMR School.
