A One-Day Awareness Programme on “Comilla Cotton Based Health Care Product” cum Distribution of Sanitary Pads to Adolescent Girls and Rural Women was organised to promote menstrual health and hygiene among adolescent girls and rural women, with a special focus on the benefits of eco-friendly, cotton-based sanitary products over conventional sanitary napkins.
The programme began with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Th. Shantibala Devi, Deputy Director Research, CAU, Imphal. P. Surbala Devi, Pradhan, Waiton GP, Imphal East, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The Key Note and Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean, College of Community Science, Tura, CAU, Imphal, who spoke on the significance of accessible and affordable menstrual hygiene solutions for rural women and adolescent girls.
A Technical Session on Menstrual Health and Hygiene was conducted by S. Molibala Devi, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science), KVK, Imphal East.
Following the technical session, Comilla Cotton-Based Sanitary Pads were distributed among the adolescent girls and rural women present.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Narmada Hidangmayum, Secretary to Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal.
