District Child Protection Unit, Thoubal organised a one-day awareness on child protection under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) on Wednesday at Wabagai Kadajit Community Hall in Thoubal District.
District Social Welfare Officer Thoubal, Thoudam Nilakumar Singh attended the programme as chief guest while District Child Protection Officer DCPU Thoubal, Konjengbam Anita Devi and Social Worker, Yumnam Hemchand Singh were the president and guest of honour respectively.
Attending the function as a resource person Protection Officer, DCPU Thoubal, Gajoo Rajkumari, spoke on the topic “Child Protection under ICPS” said that the scheme involves in building a cadre of skilled child protection personnel and developing a comprehensive communication and educational strategy for child rights and protection.
He added that the scheme provides child tracking system under a web enabled child protection management information system through which any trafficked child will be found in any part of the country.
Member of CWC, Thoubal, Khundrakpam Jitendra Singh on the topic ‘Role of Child Welfare Committee’ while Legal cum Probation officer, DCPU Thoubal, Reena Chanu Moirangthem spoke on the topic ‘Juvenile in Conflict with Law’ and highlight on “POCSO Act 2012” as a resource person.
