Driver of a passenger service diesel auto died today afternoon in a head-on collision between his vehicle and a winger vehicle coming towards Jiribam from Imphal at Sagoltongba Bazar under Patsoi Police station at around 1 pm. Another 3 passengers of the diesel auto sustained serious injury and were undergoing treatment at RIMS.
The deceased driver has been identified as Wahengbam Biko @ Bikram (age 60), son of Late W. Jugol of Patsoi Part 1. The injured passenger has been identified as Chongtham Surju Devi, aged 21, wife of Ch. Janmenjoy of Patsoi Part 2, Mutum Ranjeeta, age 19, daughter of Late Mutum Ibomcha of Patsoi Part 2 and S. Dhanapriya Devi, age 21, wife of Sanatombi of Kwakeithel Thouda Bhabok Leikai .
According to report the Winger vehicle bearing registration number MN-04 A 7325 heading towards Jiribam from Imphal accidentally collided with the diesel auto bearing registration number MN-1L 7449 which was coming towards Imphal.
