Attempted murderer apprehended

Imphal, Jan. 7: A person requesting shelter for the night entered a household and attempted to murder the owner’s son by slitting his throat with a sickle. The harrowing incident occurred yesterday at around 10.30 pm when a person approached the house of Samom Kumar, Nat-Sankirtan singer from Langmeidong presently residing at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai for taking shelter for the night as it was too late to return to his home. Incidentally, the person was working as a mason at Kumar’s house and belongs to Langmeidong. After gaining entry, the person bide his time and attempted to murder Kumar’s 35 year old son by slitting his throat with a sickle. The injured person has been admitted at RIMS and is undergoing medical treatment. Meanwhile, locals caught the attempted murderer and have been handed over to the police after a good thrashing.
