A woman from AimolSatu clarified that the incident which occurred late on Thursday at Aimol Satu was a handiwork of former Aimol Tribe’s President S. Munthuireng following misunderstanding with her son.
Narrating how the incident happened last night, S. Yangnu Aimol wife of S. Mangi Aimol told the media persons that after dinner her son Sana Aimol went to a Pan Shop for buying a pan met his uncle S. Munthuireng who came along with some others and had a talk with them regarding the declaration of Aimol as a Naga against the wishes of the people.
At that time, one of the companion of S. Munthuireng identified as Jilneichung Aimol alias Chungchung who was on leave took out a weapon and pointed at my son’s head. However, my son managed to escaped from
them after fighting back, She alleged.
As soon as my son escaped, S. Munthuireng raise alarm by shouting someone tried to kill me and in order to attack our house, his companions fired several around from their weapons. Later on, they came to our house and vandalized all our properties on the ground that my husband is a UKLF Cadre, alleged Sana’s Mother.
Meanwhile Mangi Aimol, husband of Yangnu Aimol who is a Unit 2 PRO of UKLF also told the media persons that Aimol tribe is not a Naga nor a Kuki and since time immemorial we settled in Manipur as an Aimol.
Unfortunately, S. Munthuireng former Aimol Tribe’s President in collusion with some Aimol individuals who joined the NSCN IM declared that Aimol is a Naga against the people wishes in some local dailies, he added.
After his declaration, there is no peace amongst the Aimol tribe and problem after problem arises since then. Instead of realising their misdeed and seeking forgiveness, he accused UKLF whenever a problem
arise due to his inefficient leadership.
The unfortunate incident of killing one devotee and injuring many others at Pallel Lailamthokching is also a handiwork of S. Munthuireng and Ch. Lolo Aimol, the then President and Secretary of Aimol Tribe who was working under the directives of Korsosong and Boithang, an active cadres of NSCN IM for reclaiming the hillock, he alleged.
At the time of the said incident too, they intentionally accused UKLF cadres behind the shooting. However, their plan of blaming UKLF was failed as some of the devotees on the spot of the incident saw and identified the real culprits.
While appealing all not to be misled by baseless propagandas and sinister plan of the two former tribe leaders, Mangi also told that no cadres of UKLF were not present in the area and also not involved in the yesterday incident.
