ATDUM honours winners of social media-based assistive technology competition

The All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur (ATDUM) today distributed prizes to the winners of an assistive technology awareness competition conducted through social media platforms for members of the disabled community.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Manipur Press Club in Imphal, where participants, union members and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the achievements of the winners.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, ATDUM General Secretary Chongsing Koireng said that the competition was organised with the objective of encouraging persons with disabilities to share their experiences, ideas and perspectives on navigating the challenges of contemporary society.
She stated that participants were invited to express their thoughts and experiences through posts on Facebook, highlighting the difficulties they encounter in their daily lives and the ways in which they overcome those challenges. The initiative aimed to promote awareness, self-expression and confidence among persons with disabilities while also showcasing their resilience and capabilities.
According to Chongsing Koireng, the online competition was conducted from May 16 to May 30 this year and witnessed active participation from members of the disabled community. Entries were evaluated based on public engagement on social media, including the number of likes, shares and views received by the posts.
During the programme, awards were presented in different categories to recognise outstanding contributions by participants. Chapram Lokeshori Devi was honoured with the award for Best Content for her inspiring and impactful post. Dominic Vanlalpekhlua received the award for the Most Reached Post, while Janoiya Soubam Devi was recognised for the Most Shared Post.
