The Unique Business Association Chandel and Sulam Business Association Chandel, Manipur have demanded the transfer of the present Divisional Forest Officer, Chandel.
In a press statement the association said that the present DFO who is a non-local officer should be transferred out and replaced by a local officer who can understand public basic needs and problems.
“When a non-local officer is posted in Chandel, the people of Chandel who are illiterate and poorest of the poor are facing language barrier, miscommunication between general public thereby causing more and more troubles to the public. People in Chandel need a person who can easily understand or satisfy their wants in any activities or solve the problem in an easy way”, the statement said..
The association alleged that the present DFO Chandel was warned repeatedly for his weak administration. It also alleged that the DFO Chandel cannot build a conducive working atmosphere in Chandel District owing to his incompetency being a Divisional Forest Officer.
It alleged that the present DFO Chandel is that people came for asking saplings for plantation but he refused to issue the same despite of large numbers of saplings were observed in the nursery located in the DFO office premise.
