As part of Assam Rifles’ contiguous efforts to help the underprivileged, 20 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised Philanthropic activities in commemoration of 47th Raising Day at Basileia Children Home (Orphanage), Chandel on 29 Aug 2015.  The Basileia Children Home was established with an aim of providing orphans and needy children with shelter, food, clothing, health care facilities and free education irrespective of caste and creed. The unit distributed essential food items to the children at the orphanage. As part of this effort, a medical checkup camp was also organised where Medical Officers of 20 Assam Rifles carried out free medical check up of all orphanage children. The unit provided medical cover to all the children at the orphanage and provided necessary treatment to the children. The orphanage administration appreciated the efforts taken and sincerely thanked the Assam Rifles for such help to poor and needy children.
