Assam Police arrested VDF personnel of Jiribam with 40000 Yaba Tablets

In continuation of the War on Drugs policies of the Assam government, the Jirighat police had arrested VDF personnel of Jiribam while smuggling contraband drugs yesterday at Lalpani areas of Jirighat, Cachar.
As per a source, on Saturday evening based on information Jirighat Police and Lakhipur police staff led by SDPO Lakhipur Subdivision of Cachar District conducted search operation at Lalpani areas of Jirighat.
During operation, one drug peddler namely Ibotomba Singh aged about 28 years S/O: Hembabu Singh of Uchathol, Jiribam was caught and on being searched recovered 40000 (Forty Thousand) suspected to be Yaba Tablets from his possession.
The report added that the arrested individual is serving in VDF personnel under Manipur Police.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Jirighat police station and a follow-up action is on.
