Delhi Chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal and his close associate Manish Sisodia today met PM Narendra Modi and invited him for the swearing-in ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan on February 14. Prime Minister Narendra Modi however will not be attending the swearing in ceremony on ground of security concerns as well as his prior commitment to visit Maharashtra’s Baramati on February 14 on the invitation of Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar . The meeting that took place at 7 7, Race Course Road lasted for nearly 20 minutes.
Arvind Kejriwal was accompanied by Manish Sisodia for his meeting with the Prime Minister.
Talking to reporters outside 7, RCR, soon after the meeting, Sisodia said that the PM will not attend Kejriwal’s oath-taking ceremony on February 14. He also said that they demanded full statehood for Delhi and the PM has said that he will ponder over it.
Talking to a news persons, senior Manish Sisodia said Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had “chai pe charcha” over granting full statehood for Delhi. On Cabinet formation, Sisodia, however, refused to divulge details, saying nothing can be said right now and the final list shall be decided soon and sent to the LG today.
Earlier Kejriwal had also met President Pranab Mukherjee and Union urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday
