Imphal, Aug. 30: Aina Battalion of Churachandpur Assam Rifles Sector, under the aegis of Red Shield Division, inaugurated Solar Lighting System at Sumtuk village under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) on 27 Aug 2016. Sumtuk is a remote and isolated village under Thanlon Sub Division of Churachandpur. Due to remoteness and geographic configuration of the area, electricity is a major problem. Aina Battalion created assets, which enable regular electricity supply to the village. The villagers of Sumtuk acknowledged the effort of the unit for inauguration of the project and thanked the Battalion for the same.
