Impha, March 1: Lieutenant General Gopal, General Officer Commanding 3 corps who is in the state on 2 day visit called on the Governor of Manipur Najma Heptulla. The Army General was accompanied by the Head of Assam Rifles Manipur , General Virender Singh.
Lieutenant General Gopal, is responsible for ensuring security of the Indian borders as well for countering insurgency in south-eastern states of North East India. He took charge of the Spear Corps in January 2018.
A statement by PRO Assam Rifles said that during the meeting governor emphasised the improvement in the law and order situation in the state. Needs for improving of connectivity as well as the sporting talents of the youths of the state were also discussed during the meeting .
