Imphal, Nov 19: Troops of 30 AR apprehended an arms dealer from a vehicle at Koirengei check post. The arrested arms dealer was identified as Th Joychandra alias Joy Singh, aged 37 yrs, S/o Th Sharat Singh, resident of Khurai Sajor Leikai, Dist – Imphal East. On interrogation, the arrested person revealed that he is a free lancing arms dealer and operates from his house at Khurai Sajor Leikai and his restaurant ‘Joy Hotel’ for sale of weapons. He has been handed over to the Heingang Police Station.
On the other hand troops of the 9 Assam Rifles detected a suspected IED on November 17 while on Patrolling to New Mongjang. The suspicious IED was placed at the base of a tree in the general area New Mongjang. AR troop immediately cordoned off and Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot who destroyed the IED.
