Arambai Tengol imposes restrictions on Election Campaigns

IT News
Imphal, Mar 30:

Arambai Tenggol has imposed restrictions on election campaigning by candidates and political parties for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha election, scheduled to be held in two phases. Laishram Robason, the ‘Control Room Operator’ representing Arambai Tenggol, issued a statement emphasizing the need to maintain calm amidst the current tense situation in the state.
In the statement, Robason highlighted the potential risks associated with election campaigns, including the use of loudspeakers, flag raising, and public meetings. These activities, deemed divisive rather than unifying, have the potential to escalate tensions and provoke conflict and violence.
As a result, citizens are urged to exercise caution and refrain from participating in election-related events such as campaigns, feasts, public meetings, flag raising, or the dissemination of election messages via loudspeakers. Instead, they are advised to make informed choices regarding their preferred candidates without succumbing to the pressures of campaign activities.
The imposition of these restrictions underscores the importance of maintaining peace and stability during the electoral process, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the populace amidst the prevailing tensions in Manipur.
