AR seizes WY tablets worth Rs 49 lakhs

One day after the recovery of contraband drugs worth Rs 7 Crores, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) recovered 9800 WY tablets from a Jungle track near Khudengthabi, Tengnoupal District, Manipur.
On 22 Jun 2018, based on specific information regarding carriage of carriage of contraband drugs using a jungle track in Khudengthabi, an ambush was laid.
Ambush party spotted an individual Mr Ngamjatong Mate, age 52 years, S/o Mr
Ngulkho Mate, resident of village Tuipi Lokchao, Tengnoupal District moving suspiciously with a bag. On checking the individual, 9800 WY tablets were recovered. Approximate cost of the contraband drug is Rs 49 lakhs. Apprehendee along with recovered drugs was handed over to Moreh Police Station.
