Imphal, July 29: 31 Assam rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles seized arms and ammunitions from cadres of NSCM-IM from Kamjong District, yesterday.
In a press release, PRO Assam Rifles stated that the Assam Rifles seized 3 arms and 300 rounds of ammunitions from the NSCN-IM cadres.
It said that acting on an input, the Assam Rifles personnel checked movement of underground cadres with weapons and ammunitions in Nampisha.
The press release also states that the cadres were involved in smugglings of weapons and ammunitions and might have collected from the same supplier from Myanmar.
The captured NSCN-IM cadres plan to smuggle the weapons and ammunition in Ukhrul Town.
