AR motivates youth to join Armed Forces and swift action help contains fire in Moreh

With an aim to encourage youth to take up Indian Armed Forces as a career, Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ GAR (SoIuth) interacted with locals youths and children from Nambul Mapal Youth Club of Keishamthong Ananthem Leikai, Imphal West district on yesterday. A total of 120 students attended the event which emphasised on creating awareness and providing insight into various facilities provided by Armed Forces
The programme was also aimed at changing the perception of youths towards Armed Forces. The club secretary and the youths expressed gratitude to Kakching Battalion and they also assured their co-operation and support in all future endeavors of Assam Rifles in future.
A sudden fire broke out at in a house in Shantinagar, Ward No 7, Moreh on  at around  1240 hours. On detecting the same, Quick Reaction Team of Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) rushed to the location and went all out to  extinguish the fire and also prevent it from spreading further.
Simultaneously, fire brigade was also contacted for clearing the fire. The fire services, Moreh responded quickly and carried out assessment and deployed at a place to effectively contain the fire. Fire fighting team from Moreh battalion with all necessary fire fighting equipments also reached the location. After a combined effort of around an hour, fire was finally contained effectively at around 1330 hours. The swift action and quick decision making ensured that there was no loss to life and fire was contained without spreading further.
