To commemorate the 10th International Yoga Day, Assam Rifles organized mass yoga events across various villages in the districts of Tamenglong, Noney, Senapati, and Kangpokpi in Manipur. The events garnered significant participation, with over 4,000 attendees gathering at more than 30 locations to celebrate the occasion.
In another celebration, officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and soldiers of C Company, 165 Infantry Battalion (TA) (H & H) observed International Yoga Day at Thoubal. The event, held from 0600 hrs to 0730 hrs, also included 20 school students.
In the event organized by AR, officials from the district administration, police, and security forces joined local residents in the yoga sessions, showcasing the inclusive spirit of the celebrations. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” was prominently featured through educational segments and practical demonstrations, highlighting yoga’s comprehensive benefits for individual and communal well-being.
Qualified instructors guided participants through various yoga asanas, elucidating their advantages for strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. The sessions aimed to illustrate how yoga can enhance physical fitness and mental health, promoting its integration into daily life. The informative and engaging demonstrations left participants feeling invigorated and empowered. Many expressed their appreciation to Assam Rifles for providing this enriching opportunity and fostering a deeper appreciation for yoga’s potential.
In the women’s empowerment event organized to mark Yoga Day by the Territorial Army, Major Devankur, the company commander, addressed the gathering, emphasizing yoga’s myriad benefits for physical and mental well-being. He encouraged students to prioritize their mental, physical, and spiritual fitness, underscoring their pivotal role as the future of the nation.
This year’s event additionally spotlighted the theme of women empowerment. Major Devankur stressed gender equality, affirming that both girls and boys possess equal mental and physical capabilities. He emphasized that all professions, including the defense forces, offer complete equality for both genders, urging girls to embrace their full potential without reservation. The celebration not only promoted yoga’s practice but also reinforced messages of equality and empowerment, inspiring young students to pursue excellence across all facets of life.
