AR ex-servicemen rally held

Imphal, April 22: An Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen rally which is the second such rally taken up by the paramilitary for the entire state was organized at Mantripukhri today.
According to an AR statement, the rally would cater to nearly 1000 ex-servicemen, widows, veer naris and dependents of the ex-servicemen.  The event was organised with the intent to connect Assam Rifles fraternity throughout the state of Manipur in order to understand their grievances and seek remedies.
Major General  Virendra Singh addressed the AR veterans and dependents and elaborated on the schemes implemented for their benefits. The event was conducted by Headquarter IGAR (South) under the aegis of the Director General Assam Rifles.
The programme featured felicitation of veer naris and WWII veterans, interaction programme, open house and pension adalat and distribution of wheel chairs and hearing aids to ex-servicemen by the DG, AR.
