Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a Declamation Competition on the occasion of National Security Day on 04 March 2019 for the students of Nilamani English School, Mayang Imphal.
The topic for the Competition was “Is There Any Justification of War and Establishing Peace is Not Possible”. The students enthusiastically participated in the competition, putting forth their views both for and against the motion. The competition proved to provide the young minds a suitable platform to overcome their stage fear and at the same time be able to put across their viewpoints in a lucid and confident manner.
As part of the event, an informative lecture was also organised to enlighten the students about various career options available in the Indian Defence Forces including recruitment in the Army and the Assam Rifles in various categories. The students were also briefed on various inherent advantages of joining the Indian Armed Forces including exciting life style, thrill, adventure, job security as well respect of the Forces. In addition information on the upcoming recruitment rallies along with career counseling were also provided to the attendees during the lecture.
The principal and the school staff appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles for organsing the competition and extended their gratitude for organising such an event. The event was culminated with prize distribution to the speakers followed by refreshments for all.
