Troops of Shangshak Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) apprehended two individuals with one Kg of Opium and four lakh in cash yesterday.
The individuals were apprehended at Mahadev Camp on NH 202 while moving towards Imphal in a white Maruti Gypsy. The approximate value of the recovered substance is estimated to be around 2 lakhs. After initial investigations Yangya, 40 resident of Tongu(Ringui), Ukhrul district and Thangkhothang, 32 resident of Yaolinchepu, Kamjong district were handed over to Litan Police station along with the narcotics.
The individuals have been booked under Narcotics, Drugs & Psychotropic Substance Act,1985 at Litan Police Station.
