‘Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup’ an organization formed for the promotion of Manipuri literature, authors and other prominent figures in various fields today conferred prestigious awards to two prominent Manipuri authors.
N. Kirankumar, a renowned poet from Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak was conferred with “WAKMA Mingthol” award while Keisham Bidyapati of Chandrapur Village of Cachar, Assam was honoured with the “Khorirolgee Leichal Mana” award in an aesthetic function held at the auditorium of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School Canchipur.
Former Chairman of one of the largest armed Rebel groups in the region Ningthemcha Sanayama attended the award distribution function as Chief Guest, while President of the Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup Waikhom Amuchou Meitei presided over the function. Retired Additional Chief Engineer (Electricity Dept) Khagokpam Khamba Singh also attended as the Guest of honour at the function.
On the occasion renowned theatre critic and playwright Budha Chingtham and Imphal Times Editor Rinku Khumukcham were also honoured in recognition of their services.
Dr. Sharatchandra Longjamba, Manipuri Department, DMU, Ph. Landhoni Devi, Chairman, Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School and Prof. Ch. Ibohal Singh Singh attended the function as resource persons and shared the dais.
