Application invited for Prime Minister’s Scholarship scheme

Applications are invited from candidates for the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for the academic session 2023-24. The scholarship is for the wards of States/Union Territories Police personnel of various States/Union Territories who are martyred during terror/naxal attacks.
The National Scholarship Portal for PMSS has been decided to be opened with effect from October 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 for Registration/Filling of online applications by the applicant on National Scholarship Portal 2.0 (NSP 2.0)/www.scholarships.gov.in. Further, the applicants may also be advised to liaise with their concerned College/Institution/University after the successful submission of their applications on the National Scholarship Portal to get their applications verified on or before January 15, 2024. Request for an extension of the last date of submission of the application will not be considered.
Under the existing scheme, a total of 500 (250 girls and 250 boys) scholarships will be sanctioned to the wards of States/UTs Police personnel of various States/UTs who were martyred during terror/naxal attacks from the academic year 2019-20 for pursuing first professional/technical degree course in the field of Engineering, Medical, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B. Sc (Nursing/Agriculture), MBA/MCA, etc. from recognised Government Regulatory Bodies in India (not through distance learning). The quantum of the financial assistance under the scheme for girls and boys under the fresh/renewal category is Rs. 36,000/- for each girl and 30,000/- for each boy.
