“Anti Malaria Month 2014” inaugurated

Imphal, July 30: The “Observance of Anti Malaria Month 2014” was held today at the office premise of the Chief Medical Officer, Imphal East, Manipur. The inaugural function was attended by M Joy Singh, DC Imphal East, Dr. Puspa Rai, CMO Imphal East and Dr. Ch Aruna Devi as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively. M Joy, in his presidential speech urged those involved with the project to raise and spread awareness about every aspect of the disease, and also expressed his desire to see every individual in the state, including those living in far flung places to be made aware of the importance of understanding and taking precautions to prevent the dreaded diseases. He further asserted that the active involvement and support of the elected representatives of the people, including the Pradhans and Members of Zila Parishads in making the effort a success and also declared that without proper development of the Health sector no state can hope to bring in development in any sphere. The inaugural programme was organized by the District Vector Borne Disease Control Society, Imphal East.
