Anal body stage protest against the murder of a student; submits memorandum to the CM

Imphal, April 5: Anal Community civil society body – the Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) today staged a sit—in-protest against the physical assault and subsequent Murdered of ST Kowar Anal at DC Lamkhai Chandel today demanding appropriate punishment to those involved in the killing of the Anal student. President of the Anal body Wng. Kohring Victor said that a memorandum in the connection has been submitted to the Chief Minister  of Manipur through the Deputy Commissioner today afternoon. The body demanded punishment of the culprits as per the law within 48 hours, compensation to the victim family in the form of ex-gratia besides suitable job to a family member of the victim and also to constitute joint enquiry committee allowing them to re-examine the post mortem recordings with the help of competent doctor/agency.
As per the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister the deceased ST Kowar son of late ST Kongam Anal was staying with one Takhellambam Jellel Singh at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, Imphal West and was doing computer course at Diana Computer Center Sagolband NC Road since 2016.
The memorandum further said that on March 19 this year at around 8 pm he was attacked by unknown persons at his rented room belonging to one Salam Mani Singh , son of late S. Sanajaoba Singh of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai Imphal. He was admitted to Shija Hospital Imphal but later succumbed to his head injury on March 21.
President of the Anal body Wing. Kohring Victor further added that on March 30 the Anal body had conveyed the government on March 3 through IFCD Minister Letpao Haokip who is also the Circle MLA of Chandel district but as the government has failed to take up any effective action the Anal body threaten to launch series of agitation if fail to fulfil the demand within 48 hours.
