AMWJU lifts ban on AR

All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union has lifted boycott called to the activities of Assam Riffles after the commanding officer of 26 Sector AR Pallel, Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber personally came to the Manipur press club and tender apology to the members of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union about the Moreh incident of February 13, at which Impact TV News Bureau Noren Ningombam and Cameraman Bipin were manhandled by some personnel of AR. During the meeting Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber assured to conduct an internal inquiry about the incident and assured action if the personnel are found guilty. Chhibber also assured to bear all medical cost for treatment of the two journalist as well as assured for bearing the expenditure for repairing of the camera.
