AMSU threatens serious agitations if truth is not unveiled over the findings of human skulls

All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) today threatened of serious agitations if the construction of Market at erstwhile Tombisana High School located just opposite to Old Assembly, Imphal has not been halted until the case of human skulls recovery is solved.
Addressing reporters at the campus of former Tombisana High School, AMSU, Secretary General, Laishram Regan said that the Government of Manipur must probe the recovery of eight human skeletons and skulls from the campus of the former High School and until it is probed, the construction has been put on halt from today. He added that there is a possibility of finding more such skulls and skeletons if search further at the area. Regan added that the students’ union do not trust CBI as they are corrupt and their probing procedure is always delayed besides can be easily influenced by the Government. He further added that there were cases of forced disappearance of over 1600 persons after they were either picked up or arrested by security forces in the last two decades under the shadow of the Armed Forces Special Power’s Act, 1958. He highlighted some of the cases like the disappearance of Sanamacha of Angtha and Bijoy during which AMSU had undergone serious of agitations. Regan added that AMSU highly condemned the recent recovery of eight human skulls from the campus of former Tombisana High School and the government of the state should probe when and who had committed the incidents. He cautioned of serious agitations if the Government fails to follow the demand of the Students’ Union.
