AMPA to provide free physiotherapy services across Manipur on World Physical Therapy Day

The All Manipur Physiotherapist Association (AMPA) has announced a series of free physiotherapy and health awareness initiatives across Manipur to mark World Physical Therapy Day on September 8.

Speaking at a press meet held at the Manipur Press Club, AMPA Secretary General Dr. Leishangthem Romenkumar said this year’s observance would focus on the theme “Stroke and Cardiovascular Disease.”

As part of the observance, AMPA will organise a one-day free physiotherapy and health awareness camp at the Senior Citizen Home, Terakhong, Rumble, and the Okshabung Primary School Relief Camp, Moirang, Bishnupur district.

The camps will offer free physiotherapy consultations and health awareness services, with a special focus on the prevention, management and rehabilitation of stroke and cardiovascular diseases. Orthopaedic aids will also be distributed to deserving and needy beneficiaries.

AMPA has appealed to physiotherapists, physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centres and physiotherapy departments of hospitals across all districts of Manipur to provide free physiotherapy OPD services on September 8 in observance of World Physical Therapy Day.

The association also urged physiotherapists who are unable to attend the central awareness camp to extend free consultations and treatment to patients at their respective clinics across the State, including Senapati, Ukhrul, Imphal, Kangpokpi, Noney, Churachandpur and other districts.

AMPA appealed to members of the physiotherapy community, clinic owners, rehabilitation centres and hospital authorities to extend their cooperation and actively participate in the statewide public health initiative.

Through the initiative, AMPA aims to raise public awareness about the role of physiotherapy in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of stroke and cardiovascular diseases, while ensuring that essential physiotherapy services are accessible to people in need.
