Imphal, Nov 18:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a security review in Delhi today in light of the ongoing violence in Manipur. Following reports of fresh unrest, which prompted a curfew in Imphal West and East and an internet shutdown in seven districts, Amit Shah is set to hold another detailed discussion with senior officials tomorrow at 12 pm to assess the situation further.
In a related development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over three cases linked to the violence in the state. This move comes after a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, transferring the cases from the Manipur Police to the central agency. The cases include the murder of a woman by armed militants in Jiribam on November 8, 2024, an attack on a CRPF post in Borobekra on November 11, 2024, and the burning of houses and killing of a civilian in the same area.
