AMCTA stages protest

All Manipur College Teacher’s Association (AMCTA) today staged a sit-in- protest at Chingamakha Community hall as a part of their ongoing agitation against the state government protesting to meet their demands.
Speaking to media, M. Lokendro, President, AMCTA said that AMCTA has already submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Education Minister on Nov 18 of last year demanding an immediate release of a fresh notification considering local conditions in respect of recruitment and other service matter, cancellation of government orders no. 7 (2)/6/2003-HE dated 14/11/2014 and appointment of regular principal to all the government colleges of Manipur, to remove existing commissioner, P. Vaiphei from higher education department and to release pending due allowances ie SCA, TA, etc entitled to college Teacher’s and equivalent cadres by making correction of ROP orders dated 12/08/2003014011 as top priority.
He added that it has already been eighty days since AMCTA has started the agitation but no response has been given from the government’s side. He added that it is a sign of ignoring higher education and AMCTA highly condemns it. Hence starting from tomorrow AMCTA is all set to intensify their agitation, they will cease work, added Lokendro.
