AMCO announces Peace & Healing Festival in Imphal

The All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) today appealed for unity and peace amid ongoing ethnic tensions in the state, while announcing the Manipur Peace & Healing Festival 2026.
Speaking to reporters at the Manipur Press Club, Dr. Guangmei Gangmei said the festival will be held from April 21 to 24 at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. He described the event as a platform to promote prayer, love, unity and forgiveness among communities across both hill and valley regions.
The programme will feature Apostle Ankit Sajwan and is open to people from all backgrounds without favouring any particular group, he said.
Dr. Gangmei stated that the initiative has received support from Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Loshii Dikho, along with backing from MLA Awangbow Newmai.
Noting that Manipur has witnessed prolonged divisions, displacement and loss of lives since the outbreak of ethnic violence in May 2023, AMCO stressed the need for reconciliation and healing.
The organisation urged civil society groups and the Christian community to support and participate in the initiative, while also calling on believers to act as peacemakers.
