AMBA reacts on government’s indifference

Imphal, March 17: Reacting on the Manipur Government’s indifferent attitude towards the Khwairamband blast, All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) today staged a sit-in-protest in front of Cheirap Court.

Addressing reporters, former President, AMBA, A. Indrakumar said that the state government did not extend any financial support to the blast victims. One of the blast victims, Advocate, Laishram Medhapati who got severe injury on her left spine and is presently getting treatment at Raj Medicity haven’t received any financial support from the government’s side. Blaming the government for not able to trace the whereabouts the blasts Indrakumar said the administration of the state is a complete failure.

It may be mentioned that the matter was raised during the short discussion hour of the state assembly session by MLA N Biren, RK Anand and Dr. Ng. Bijoy. The house resolved to condemn the incident in the strongest term as raised by the three MLAs. While giving statement Home Minister Gaikhangam has said that government is providing all possible assistance to the victims of the blasts.
