All Jiribam Road Transport Direvers’ Union suspend steering off agitation

Jiribam, Sept 29:

The steering off agitation which was launched by All Jiribam Road Transport Drivers’ Union (AJRTDU) and truck drivers of Jiri-Imphal road denouncing the non-repairing of deplorable portion of NH-37 (Jiri-Imphal) road has been suspended following an understanding reached with concern authority.
Talking with media person at the AJRTDU office, Jiribam L. Maniton, Secretary of All Jiribam Road Transport Drivers’ Union (AJRTDU) said that considering the difficulties of drivers operating on worsening portion of NH-37, the union launched steering off the agitation, as the concerned authority fail to hear the hue and cry of drivers.
He added the steering off agitation was suspended after the NHIDCL official talked with AJRTDU and assured that the repair works on a deplorable portion of the road will complete within October.
He also thanked drivers for extending support as well as NHIDCL for starting repair works of the road.
