The All Jiribam Tribal Union (AJTU) which called Bandh on NH-37 (Jiribam- Imphal) road has crippled traffic flow on the road.
The total shutdown on NH-37 came into force from 5 AM to 12 midnight today demanding the government to allow the tribal villages of Jiribam to pay hill house tax which had been paid by the hill villagers of Jiribam since 1920s till 2016.
During todays total shutdown all the goods laden vehicles proceeding towards Imphal were stranded at Jiribam District.
