Airport Security seized over 4 kg of gold while trying to smuggle outside the state at Imphal Airport

Imphal, Sept. 15: Airport Security at Imphal Tulihal Airport now renamed as Bir Tikendrajit International Airport today seized over 6 kilogram of gold while trying to smuggled outside the state from around 6 passengers trying to broad at different aircrafts to Kolkata.

Details of the identities of the passengers could not be known at the moment but source from inside the airport said that the gold were seized from around six passengers trying to board at Indigo and Air Asia flight separately. Interestingly the gold were pumped inside their anus, said the source.

All the six are in the custody of Airport security (CISF) at the time of filing this report (3.pm). The CISF authorities are in search of more passengers as they suspect that more people could have been used for the game. The source also added that all the six person currently in the security custody are all non locals.

A source said that the CISF are not disclosing about the matter till late hours as they are hunting more passengers who are with them.

Following the seizure of the huge quantity of gold from around six persons it is believed that a gang of gold smugglers are operating in the state. The gold are probably smuggled in the state from Myanmar along the Imphal Moreh route.
