In a ceremony held at the South Asian Institute of Rural & Agricultural Management (SAIRAM) in Langjing, Professor H.S. Shekhar Sharma, Director of SAIRAM, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Yumnam Parun Meitei of M/s Imphal Nursery. Parun Meitei was honoured for his remarkable achievement of the Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rastria Puruskar Award by the Global Management Council, Ahmedabad, as the “Best Nursery Farmer – 2023.”
The award lauds Parun Meitei’s exceptional contributions to the field of ornamental and fruit plants nursery production. Recognized for his pioneering work in plant nursery raising and the multiplication of fruit plants through various traditional methods, he has demonstrated unparalleled expertise and dedication.
During the felicitation ceremony on Tuesday, Professor Sharma congratulated Yumnam Parun Meitei, acknowledging his ascent to the summit of the plant nursery industry through his remarkable talent and personality. He commended Meitei for leading his personal life with dignity, self-confidence, and originality, setting an inspiring example for others to emulate.
