Agri dept. making all efforts to ensure transparency in the distribution of fertilizer – Th. Biswajit

Agriculture Minister Thongam Biswajit today said that the Agriculture Department is trying all efforts to ensure that all farmers in the state got fertilizers on time. He said that there is complete transparency in the distribution of fertilizers to all the districts of the state.
“We have transported the fertilizer on time and distributed to the farmers on time”, the Agriculture Minister said adding that there may be some issues with those farmers who require more fertilizers.
“We require around 7 lakhs bags of fertilizers but received only around 4 lakhs bags so there may be some issue as some farmers want more, however, our Agriculture department has been making all effort to ensure transparency to the distribution of the fertilizer”, Agriculture Minister Thongam Biswajit said while inspecting a Training Hall cum Hostel constructed under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) at Japhou bazaar in Chandel district today. Earlier, the Minister inspected the Agro market shed constructed by the Agriculture Department at Khongjom bazaar.
Official source said that around 3.5 lakhs bags of fertilizers have been distributed so far as per record.
Agriculture Minister Thongam Biswajit had been inspecting the construction of Agro Market sheds, and training Halls being constructed in various parts of the state since yesterday. TP cell is the implementing Agency of the construction.
Thongam Biswajit assured that the training hall cum market being constructed at various places will be inaugurated by November this year.
Director of Agriculture, Engineers of the TP cell, and other officials accompanied the Minister during the inspection visit.
